Description
Hydratonic® Med is a dietary food for special medical purposes. It includes sugar and a sweetener, and is in powder form. After dissolving in water, it is used as an oral hydration fluid for dietary treatment in disorders of the water and electrolyte balance at risk of dehydration during diarrhoea and vomiting.
It is a rehydration product of reduced osmolarity and reduced sodium content, whose composition is in accordance with the recommendations of ESPGHAN (The European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition).

The recommended dose of the rehydration solution is approximately 50-100 ml/kg of b.w./4 h (an additional 5-10 ml/kg of b.w. after each diarrhoeal stool and 2-5 ml/kg of b.w. after each episode of vomiting). |

Purpose
The preparation is intended for children over 3 years of age, adolescents, and adults for dietary treatment in states of dehydration from diarrhoea and/or vomiting, in order to supplement fluids and minerals
Important information: This product should only be taken under medical supervision. Produced without the use of milk protein, lactose or gluten.
Precautions and contraindications: This product should not be used in cases of hypersensitivity to any of its components. Do not exceed the portion of the preparation suggested for consumption. The preparation is not a complete foodstuff, and should not be used as the sole source of food. Not to be used parenterally. Poor renal function, haemodynamic shock and intestinal obstruction are contraindications to the use of the product.
Dosage
Dissolve the contents of the sachet in 200 ml of warm, boiled, water. Serve chilled. Do not sweeten the prepared solution.
